The Management Authority of the Man-made River Project has announced a reduction in the quantities of water allocated to the area on Jalu-Ujlah track to the south, to Sirte to the west and Benghazi to the east.

In a statement, the River Authority attributed the reasons for the reduction to the necessary maintenance and repair work, which will take 30 days, in preparation for the summer season, when water demand increases dramatically.

The statement stressed that water supply to all regions will never stop, and that the purpose of maintenance is to "ensure continuous water flow and better productivity to maintain the integrity of the system."
