The head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, discussed on Tuesday, with the UN envoy, Abdoulaye Bathily, the latest developments in the political situation in Libya, and moving forward with the political process to reach free and fair elections.

Bathily stressed the need to break out of the political impasse and bring closer viewpoints between the parties concerned with the Libyan issue in partnership with the head of the Presidential Council, praising his pivotal role and his insistence on the necessity of holding elections as soon as possible, according to the PC media office.

Menfi expressed his gratitude to the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and its support for the requirements of the Libyan people to reach the parliamentary and presidential elections as soon as possible.
