The Presidential Council's Head Mohammed Menfi condemned in a phone call with Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby the armed attack on the presidential palace in Chad, saying in a statement on Friday that he had confirmed his condemnation of "the terrorist act that took place in the capital N'Djamena over the past two days," speaking of "Libya's support for the Chadian government's efforts to maintain security and stability in the country."
The statement quoted Déby as stressing the depth of the historical relationship between Chad and Libya in various fields, pointing to the need to join efforts to enhance security and stability in the region.
An armed attack targeted the presidential palace in the capital N'Djamena last Wednesday evening, resulting in the deaths of 19 people: 18 attackers and one government forces' individual.
