The head of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, has discussed with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, progress made in basic files leading to elections.

This came during their meeting at the headquarters of the Presidential Council in Tripoli on Wednesday.

The media office of the Presidential Council disclosed that the meeting between Menfi and Bathily focused on the progress made in the basic files to conduct elections in 2023, such as strengthening national reconciliation project, unifying security and military efforts, the comprehensive national mechanism for managing oil revenues, setting pending priorities, and discussing ways to support the (6+6) Committee to fulfil its responsibilities as soon as possible.

Menfi on his part stressed to Bathily the national ownership of the entire Libyan political process, its foundations and paths, according to media office.
