President Mohamed Menfi of the Presidential Council (PC), accompanied by a high-level delegation, departed for Beijing on Monday to partake in the China-Africa Summit. Libya's participation follows an invitation extended by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
As reported by the media, China is currently convening leaders from diverse African nations with the aim of strengthening ties with the resource-rich continent.
Beijing stated that the China-Africa Forum, scheduled for this week, will mark the most extensive diplomatic gathering hosted since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event is anticipated to be attended by several African heads of state and numerous delegations representing countries and regional organizations.
