The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Illegal Immigration Mohamed Al-Shibani called for setting up a mechanism for international organizations working in the field of illegal immigration, to be determined by the ministry.
Al-Shibani said during his meeting with the charge d'affaires of the Italian Embassy that Libya is one of the countries that is suffering from migration as a transit country. He stressed the importance of supporting the desert patrols and starting a plan for securing the south.
Al-Shibani clarified that the ministry has more than 5,000 experienced members in the field of desert patrols, combating immigration and monitoring the southern border, which is a source of smuggling gangs.
