More than 300,000 cubic meters of water have leaked out of the Salouq reservoir east of Libya due to a sabotage act on the line and a water station in Bani Walid town, an official at the Man-made River Authority (MMRA), Salah Al-Saadi says.

Al-Saadi explains that most of the damage is because residents are linking illegal water supply lines to their private property.

According to Al-Saadi, the MMRA has documented 18 illegal activities on the water system during the current year, while the amount of water wasted due to the attacks amounted to more than one million cubic meters.
