A member of Al- Sharqiyah Municipality in Umm Al Aranib district, Ahmed Osman, confirmed the withdrawal of Khalid Ibn Al-Walid Battalion from around the Chinese company occupied by Chadian opposition groups, after a siege for several days.
Osman explained in a press statement that the withdrawal of these forces was because of the lack of capabilities of the southern battalions in comparison to the Chadian group capacity, which possesses heavy and armoured equipment.
Osman added that the relevant authorities in the east did not provide any genuine support on the ground and that their military operations during the past few days have taken place with the local people's support.
