The former ambassador of Libya to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Aref Nayed said he intends to run for Libya’s president in the country’s planned elections on December 24 next.

Known as “the UAE man in Libya”, Nayed said “I renew my intention to run for the presidential elections scheduled for December 24”, calling on Libyan people to support him and view his vision for what he called “the revival of Libya 2030.”

Nayed served as Libya’s ambassador to the UAE for many years at the request of the latter. He has been the main arm of the UAE implementing its agendas and plots in Libya since 2011. He currently runs UAE-funded media and television channels that incited fighting and hatred in Libya and supported warlord Haftar in all his wars, including his last war on Tripoli.
