A delegation from the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) held a meeting with its Tunisian and Algerian counterparts, on the sidelines of meetings at the United Nations, to discuss ways to unify positions and diplomatic efforts to confront international plans aimed at displacing the people of Gaza and seizing their lands.
The HoR delegation, which included the First Deputy Speaker Fawzi Al-Nuwairi and member Rabia Abu Ras, reaffirmed the firm position in support of the Palestinian Cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
A statement published by the spokesman for the House of Representatives explained that these meetings come within the framework of the ongoing coordination between Arab parliaments to enhance common positions on regional and international issues, and to consolidate the role of parliamentary diplomacy in defending just causes in various international forums.
The meeting came on the sidelines of participation in the parliamentary hearing session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where they discussed global plans to combat poverty and inequality, in addition to the impact of international tax policies on these pivotal issues, with the aim of enhancing parliamentary effectiveness in achieving the sustainable development goals by 2030.
