The UN envoy, Jan Kubis, said members of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum don't have the option of leaving Switzerland without agreement, adding that Libyan parties' consensus on a solution is highly important.
Kubis added Monday in his opening remarks to the LPDF plenary meeting in Switzerland that the results of the meeting will be sent to the House of Representatives and High Council of State, hoping for having a constitutional basis for elections.
Kubis said the Advisory Committee had agreed on formula for the constitutional basis, adding that there are 179 days left till the elections day and that July 01 deadline is approaching without any progress despite the legal committee efforts.
Kubis said the HoR wasn't up to the responsibility that was placed in it regarding passing the elections legislation, reiterating the need for all parties to accept the results of the general elections, warning spoilers of accountability.
He also said that Libyans are relaying on the LPDF and are aspiring for ending transitional phases to exercise their rights of choosing their leadership, adding that Libya's fate cannot remain under the control of those who work for their personal interests.
