Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC), Abdullah Al-Lafi held talks with President Samia Salouhi of Tanzania on Sunday, a statement by the PC said.

The two sides met on the sidelines of the African Summit, hosted by Ethiopia on 17-18 February.

According to the PC, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to further elevate cooperation ties to new heights.

Al-Lafi expressed the importance of strengthening inter-African partnerships and restoring Libya's role in the African Union.

On her part, President Salouhi reaffirmed her country's readiness to support the reconciliation path in Libya and to help the Libyans overcome the political impasse.
