President Mohammed Menfi of the Presidential Council (PC) has emphasized support for broadening participation and dialogue to move forward the legal framework for the elections that the 6+6 committee is overseeing.

Menfi made his remarks during a meeting with the UN Envoy Abdoulaye Bathily at the PC HQ in Tripoli on Wednesday.

The PC head media office said that Bathily lauded Menfi's "principal and pivotal role" in bridging the gap between Libyan political leaders, as well as his efforts with the UN mission to promote peace and stability across the nation and advance the Supreme Finance Committee.

Menfi, for his part, affirmed his desire to end the transitional stages, support the 6+6 committee, and build on these developments by broadening involvement and debate of key forces.

He also pledged to cooperate closely with the UN mission to promote consensus among relevant institutions and political parties.
