The head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, met on Sunday, with the German Special Envoy to Libya, Christian Buck, to discuss pushing the political process in Libya to reach elections.

The meeting, which took place in the presence of Sarah Holt, the official in charge of the Libyan file at the German Foreign Ministry, and the Chargé d'Affaires, Sven Kroesbe, discussed developments in the political situation in Libya, national reconciliation project adopted by the Presidential Council, and preparations for the upcoming comprehensive conference.

Buck praised the role of the head of the Presidential Council and his tireless efforts to bring viewpoints closer between the Libyan parties with the aim of ending the transitional stages and bringing the country to elections, according to the Media Office of the Presidential Council.

Menfi appreciated Germany's positive role in Libya and its diplomatic and political efforts to achieve the outcomes of the two Berlin tracks, with the aim of achieving peace in Libya and reaching elections as soon as possible.
