The Head of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohammed Menfi, discussed on Tuesday evening with the French President’s special envoy to Libya, Paul Soler, in the presence of French ambassador Mostafa Mihraje, the progress made in national reconciliation and the unification of the Libyan military institution, stressing that the PC would continue its efforts with all political actors, with the aim of ending the transitional periods through fair elections. 

Menfi met with the French President’s envoy to Libya in Tripoli and they discussed developments in the Libyan political process, stressing the PC's support for the results of the 6+6 joint committee and building on them by expanding participation and dialogue to overcome the remaining contentious points. 

He stressed the need to unite all Libyan institutions, in preparation for holding elections and accepting their results, and continuing efforts to consolidate the achieved consensus, to include the relevant institutions and all active political forces, in coordination with the UN envoy to Libya Abdoulaye Bathily. He also expressed his appreciation for the interest of the French President in the Libyan file, and thanked him for the invitation to participate in the peace conference in Paris next November.

The French President's envoy hailed the work of the Finance Committee, stressing "the depth of relations between the two countries, the keenness of France to achieve stability in Libya, and its support for the vision of the PC and the integrated steps to reach the electoral process.
