Menfi

‎The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, stressed that any international efforts that do not include Libyan institutions emanating from the political agreement will empty the results of their legitimacy and drift away from the possibility of implementation.

Menfi welcomed "every serious initiative within the framework of the constants specified in the Security Council resolution that enhance transparency and consensus, and pave the way for the electoral entitlement in 2025," commenting in a post on X platform on Saturday on a meeting called for by the Wilton Park organization affiliated with the British Foreign Office regarding Libya, in which a number of Western diplomats participated in London.

"What was stated in the Security Council resolution, most notably defining the reference of the political agreement and the roadmap, and calling for addressing the unilateral decisions issued, and completing the electoral laws (6 + 6) by consensus between the relevant institutions on the few remaining articles or by a referendum on them by the people, represents the effective framework for the next stage." Menfi said.

This comes after the Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Koury, announced her participation in a three-day consultative meeting held by the Wilton Park Organization, affiliated with the British Foreign Office, explaining that the meeting was held within the framework of ongoing efforts to mobilize the support of member states for a Libyan-led political process facilitated by the United Nations.

Koury participated in the consultative meeting at the invitation of the United Kingdom, and said in a post on her X account: "It is encouraging to see international support for the United Nations' efforts to put Libya on a sustainable path towards security, stability and sustainable development."
