The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, has reaffirmed Libya's firm commitment and strong support for the Palestinian people in their struggle against the Israeli occupation.
Menfi said in his speech at the Arab Summit in the Bahraini capital, Manama, on Thursday, that Libya once again condemns the brutal aggression against the people of Gaza in particular and Palestine in general, adding that Libya has joined the case submitted by South Africa against the crimes of the Israeli occupation against Palestinians.
Menfi also spoke about the political process in Libya, stressing that it had witnessed several positive developments during the recent period, noting the continued efforts of the Presidential Council to cooperate with all parties in order to achieve stability in the country.
He added that the Libyan people "do not accept negative external interference in Libya’s internal affairs," pointing out that the Presidential Council is making every effort with everyone to propose initiatives to enhance confidence among the parties to hold elections and end the transitional period.
Menfi also hailed the role of the Arab League regarding Libya and its support for the Libyan dialogue to reach free and fair elections as quickly as possible.
