The Ministry of Transportation of the Government of National Unity said that Nile Air Company intends to launch its flights between Cairo and Sabha airports this week.

The Minister of Transportation, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, said on the ministry’s Facebook page that the launching of Nile Air flights between Cairo and Sabha will alleviate the suffering and difficulties facing the transportation of travelers from the southern regions to other international airports, support the development movement and encourage economic activities.

A few days ago, Al-Shahoubi confirmed the return of Royal Jordanian and Qatar Airways flights to and from Libya this month. He indicated that discussions were also ongoing with Saudi and Moroccan airlines to resume their flights to and from Libya.

In late March, Turkish Airlines returned to Libya for the first time after about 10 years of hiatus, in a step that Al-Shahoubi considered an encouragement for the return of other international companies.
