The Chargé d'Affairs of the Palestinian Embassy in Libya, Mohammed Rahhal, has conveyed to the head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, the Palestinian Authority's aspiration for Libya to contribute, through its African and international relations, to mobilizing an international political position to prevent the Israeli occupation from continuing its war on Gaza.
This came during Menfi’s reception in his office on Thursday of the Palestinian Chargé d’Affaires, who conveyed President Mahmoud Abbas's appreciation of the Libyan position towards the Palestinian cause.
Rahhal gave Menfi a briefing on the situation in Gaza, which threatens a humanitarian crisis as a result of cutting off water and electricity and preventing the arrival of food and medical supplies by the occupation authorities.
He also expressed the Palestinian Authority's aspiration for Libya's contribution to international efforts to open the door to delivering aid to civilians besieged in Gaza, and to allow the transfer of the wounded, sick and injured outside the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Menfi affirmed that the Libyan people have always been at the forefront in offering sacrifices, aid and support to their Palestinian brothers even before the establishment of the Libyan state.
He also stressed that the Libyan state and the Libyans continue to provide all available support and that he personally follows up with the Libyan authorities all the situations in Gaza and the rest of the Palestinian territories.
