The UN Secretary-General's Special Adviser on Libya Stephanie Williams has called the House of Representatives and the High Council of State for a meeting to agree on a constitutional basis for the elections.

In a letter to the presidency of both sides, Williams proposed naming six representatives from each side to meet for two weeks, starting from March 15 under the auspices of the United Nations, to finalize a constitutional basis for the elections.

Williams urged all sides to maintain security and stability, and avoid violence, intimidation and abduction.

“The solution to the Libyan crisis is not in the formation of rival administrations and permanent transitional stages.” She tweeted.

The head of the High Council of State Khaled Al-Mishri welcomed Williams’ invitation to the meeting in order to agree on a constitutional basis to hold the elections as soon as possible.
