The Presidential Council Head (PC), Mohamed Menfi, has discussed coordinating efforts to secure the joint borders with Chad during a phone call with Chadian President Mohamed Idriss Deby.

Over and above bilateral relations, the two sides discussed border security and coordination to combat terrorism, smuggling, human trafficking, and illegal immigration, according to a statement by the PC.

Menfi also highlighted the importance of the Community of the Sahel-Saharan States, which Chad is currently chairing. He emphasized the need to activate the block and return to function from its headquarters in Tripoli, given its crucial role in achieving security, stability, and development in the African continent, as he put it.
