The Director of the General Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taher Hussein, has affirmed his government’s commitment to providing the necessary facilitation to enhance bilateral relations between Libya and Burundi, in a way that serves the mutual interests of both countries.
During a meeting held at the Ministry’s HQ in Tripoli, the official received a copy of the credentials of Burundi’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Libya, Omar Ntezimbere, according to a ministry statement.
Earlier, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh had canceled the interest on a $5 million loan Libya had provided to Burundi and decided to settle for the principal debt.
